Discovery Virtual’s Student Highlight
Meet Holly Helinski
8th Grade | Discovery Virtual School
Holly is a standout student whose leadership shines through hard work, independence, and compassion. She plays a key role on her family’s farm—feeding and training animals, assisting with breeding, and helping her younger sisters with school and chores—all while excelling academically on her own.
She also volunteers for Grand Prix dressage rider Jessica Wisdom, taking on major responsibilities at horse shows and training events. When a young girl expressed interest in dressage, Holly stepped up to teach her personally, offering lessons on a pony she had trained herself.
Whether she’s in the barn or in the classroom, Holly leads with quiet confidence, kindness, and dedication every day.

Tips for Online Learning Success
Make a Game Plan for a Successful Year
1. Set a Daily Routine
Stick to a consistent schedule for schoolwork, breaks, and activities. Routines help you stay focused and balanced.
2. Create a Dedicated Workspace
Set up a quiet, organized space for learning. Having a go-to spot for school helps your brain switch into “focus mode.”
3. Stay Connected
Check in regularly with your teachers and classmates. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or join virtual discussions—it makes learning more engaging.
4. Use a Planner or Calendar
Track assignments, deadlines, and goals to stay on top of your work. Whether it’s digital or on paper, planning ahead reduces stress.
5. Take Care of Yourself
Get enough sleep, eat well, move your body, and take breaks when you need them. A healthy mind and body make learning easier and more enjoyable.
