Curriculum & Academics

Can my high school student earn a high school diploma?

Yes, Discovery Virtual School is an approved public online school that offers a Washington State high school diploma.

Is there a designated curriculum?

Discovery Virtual School offers a free, rigorous online curriculum for families who choose it. However, if you already have a preferred curriculum or would prefer a paper-pencil curriculum we can work with you to develop an individualize program.

Eligibility & Enrollment

Do I have to live in Clarkston, WA?

No. Although Discovery Virtual School is hosted by the Clarkston School District, any student who resides in Washington State can join the program.

Are there state requirements?

Discovery Virtual School is an alternative learning experience hosted by the Clarkston School District. As a public school entity, we are bound by specific rules and regulations governing public schools, coursework, graduation and assessments. To learn more about those regulations and how they apply to your vision for your children, please contact DVS directly.

Flexibility & Support

Is the program flexible?

Yes. We understand families choose to educate from home for a large variety of reasons. Our program is designed to work with you and your child(ren).

Do you provide technology?

Families are expected to provide computer access to their child(ren) who participate in the program. If there is a financial hardship and assistance in getting technology is needed, please let us know. No student will be turned away for not having a computer.
